In addition to the basic fee, a fee of EUR 1,67 m3 + EUR 0,43 (VAT 25,5%) = EUR 2,10/m3 will be charged for temporary water, measured with a temporary water meter or according to the estimated use.

If a fire hydrant meter has been damage during use, the repair costs of the meter and the final readings of the meter plus 100 m3 as a usage fee will be invoiced.

Fees related to connecting to the network

A connection fee will be charged when a property is connected to the water supply and/or sewer network. The amount of the fee depends on the type of the property and the permitted building volume of the plot. A connection fee may also be charged after the connection agreement has been concluded if an existing building on the property is extended, a new building is constructed on the property, or a new connection is made to an existing building.

A connection fee calculation can be requested from the number +358 3 5656 3650 or vesi.karttapalvelu@tampere.fi. The annually revised unit price of the connection fee is linked to the changes of the total index of construction. For instance, the connection fee of a detached house under 250 m2
is EUR 6,285,00 of which the proportion of water is EUR 2,526,00, waste water EUR 3,142,50 and drainage water EUR 628,50.

There is a calculator for calculating the average connection fee available on the Tampere Water website. Calculators are currently only available in Finnish.

In addition to the connection fee, the property owner must take into consideration a separate construction cost arising from the installation of on-site service lines.

  • If service pipes for the plot at the boundary of the plot have not been built in conjunction with new construction projects, the property owner can have them built by Tampereen Vesi based on a quote or by another contractor. Tampereen Vesi will connect the property from the core network and to the water meter in the property and invoice the work.

  • Installing the water pipe into an open excavation, including work and material costs (d 40 mm, length less than 30 m). It must be taken into account that the excavation work for the water and sewer pipes on the plot will be carried out by the contractor of the developer.

    The prices include installation, opening and closing of the excavation as well as finishing of the surfaces including materials to the proximity of the boundary of the plot. The construction costs of the service pipes that are higher than the above-mentioned connection costs will be determined according to the actual construction costs. The construction cost is linked to the total construction index based on the September index of the previous year. The fee is defined based on the price list of the year when the building permit was granted.

    The prices include the work and materials related to the construction and connection of the service pipes. However, the construction costs for these connection sizes cannot be higher than the fees presented in the previous section. The construction costs of the service pipes that are higher than the above-mentioned connection costs will be determined according to the actual construction costs.

    The reading fee will be charged for the reading check ordered by the customer if the meter shows correct readings. The fee includes material costs according to the meter size.

    The minimum charge is one hour, billing is done with an accuracy of half an hour. The service prices include transportation to the waste processing site.

    The minimum charge is one hour, with billing in 30-minute increments.

    An additional visit refers to a charge, for example, if an agreed connection work is canceled due to an excavation that does not comply with instructions.

    For work performed outside normal working hours, a multiplier of 1,75 is applied between 16:00 and 22:00, and a multiplier of 2 is applied between 22:00 and 07:00, as well as on weekends and public holidays.

  • The prices reflect any adjustments in the billing of Pirkanmaan Jätehuolto Oy.
